SEXUAL HARASSMENT SCANDAL SHAKES SITE AS CALLS RISE FOR COMMISSION OF INQUIRY; GAG ORDER PLACED BY DIRECTOR, DR. STERN
Beit Guvrin, Israel: A gag order was instructed today following suspicions of sexual harassment involving one of the more prominent staff members.
According to suspicions the staff member used demeaning language towards a junior female staff member identifiable only as 'D'. Transcripts of D's testimony reveal a daunting picture: According to D the alleged harasser told her he would like to send her undercover as a prostitute into a French Hill brothel with which he was well acquainted. He further suggested she participate in non platonic activity there while making use of a concealed camera with which he would provide her. According to D this theme was repeated continuously throughout the course of several days.
However people familiar with the case say the evidence is far from being conclusive. A psychologist brought today specially from Beer Sheba suggested the alleged harasser would be found unfit for trial due to possessing "the cognitive functions of a six year old".
Director, Dr. Stern avoided tackling the issue directly and said only that he hoped this would not divert attention from the more 'fundamental challenges' facing the dig. He then reiterated his commitment to move all the dirt in John Malkovitz from one side to the other.
